A Centers Journey Through Place Value and Fractions (3rd-5th grade)
Tuesday November 5, 2024 9:00am - 9:45am EST
We will take a journey through place value and fraction standards (3rd-5th grade). We will do this by rotating through centers so that we can see the progression of the standards and interact with activities that students can do while working on mastering the standards. Teachers will leave with a set of center ideas for the discussed standards. There will also be a Team in Microsoft Teams for teachers to join to gain digital access to the centers.

Vocabulary Instruction
Tuesday November 5, 2024 9:00am - 9:45am EST
In this interactive session, we will explore the critical role vocabulary plays in Scarborough’s Reading Rope, with a focus on teaching Tier 2 and Tier 3 words. These words, essential for developing deeper language comprehension and academic success, often require explicit instruction and multiple exposures to fully integrate into a student’s working vocabulary.
By the end of the session, teachers will have a toolkit of strategies to implement immediately, ensuring that their students not only learn new words but retain and apply them, strengthening their language comprehension and overall reading ability.
